My biggest goal in life at one time was to become the Mayor of the city Houston because I liked making change happen. Mayors must have a solid understanding of the city council affairs and the city landscape. Most mayors have started out in lower positions and then advanced to higher positions as they gain the necessary experience. Mayors must also be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen and a qualified voter by obtaining their voters registration card. Mayors are elected politicians that serve as the top executive officer for a city, town or village. They ensure all departments are working effectively and productively. They are involved in the decision making process of departments such as parks, post offices, police, fire departments and libraries. If you become the mayor someday, you will have achieved an amazing feat.
