Carrie Underwood is one of the
biggest country singer stars out there and this past week she
landed the #24 song of the century with her breakout hit, “Jesus
Take the Wheel”. It was not her Idol coronation song, but it was
her first big hit on country radio. The song was written by
Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson and was released
in October 2005 as the first single from her debut album Some
Hearts.
“Jesus, Take the Wheel” won
Grammy's for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best
Country Song, and it won Single of the Year at the 2005 Academy
of Country Music Awards. I actually was a big fan of the song
when it came out and I cried the first time I heard it because I
was so happy for her. |
