What is an editorial column in a newspaper? Let’s Google it. From Wikipedia: “Editorials may reflect the opinion of the periodical.” So how does this definition fit “The Houston Post?” I couldn’t possibly put this into just a few words. I’ll take a step back and write about the corporate name instead: “The United States Volunteer, LLC” The name says it all: “Volunteer.”

Let’s define the word first: Volunteer (noun) 1. a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. Synonyms: subject, participant, case, patient; informal: guinea pig. “Each volunteer was tested three times.” (verb) 1. freely offer to do something. “He volunteered for the job.”

There you go, the word, “Volunteer” reflected my intent of this periodical. If you are a college student, and you would like to write in this publication, answer this question. How do you feel about volunteering?
